Merry Christmas

Well, we had this plan this year to send out Christmas cards to all our friends and family. I was so excited and I even designed our Christmas cards myself on photoshop. I found this design on Shutterfly and thought it had potential

and with that in mind I created this. What do you think? I'm pretty proud of it, actually!

And, we even wrote up a few things about what each of us is up to this year. You can read those below:

Ryan
 Graduated with his Masters in Accountancy in April and started working at WTAS in July (Yay, for a real job!); He LOVES it.

 Is almost done with the CPA exam - After Ryan’s first test his brain was so fried (he used every second of the 4 hours allotted) that he didn’t realize until after driving nearly 40 miles that the gas light was on. He still doesn’t know exactly how long it was on and it’s probably a good thing we didn’t live any further away or he might not have made it home that night.

 In his free time he plays the piano, does home improvement projects, reads, and plays basketball.

Brienne

 Is very pregnant (due January 24th) - As many of you know, when you are pregnant you have to use the restroom quite a bit more often than normal. We have been talking with Owen about using the potty for awhile as he’s getting ready to start potty training. The other day, Ryan took him into the bathroom at church to change his diaper. Owen pointed at the toilet and said, “potty -- mommy, potty -- mommy.” Apparently, Brienne’s frequent trips to the restroom have caused Owen to associate the potty with mommy.

 Loves being a Stay-at-home Mommy and helping Owen learn new things.

 Joined a quilting group.

 In her free time she crafts, blogs, decorates & organizes the apartment, tries new recipes, reads, and naps:)

Owen
 Turned 1 in March, Loves to Laugh, and now runs everywhere he goes.

 Talks up a storm and tries to make friends with everyone we meet – On a flight home a few months back, Owen got sick just as the plane was pulling up to the terminal. He vomited twice, very loudly, and quite a large amount. While Mommy and Daddy were scrambling to clean up the mess, the other passengers exited the plane. Many of them paused to observe the chaos as they passed. By that point Owen was feeling much better and true to his toddler self felt no shame. He smiled at all the people passing him by and at one point stood up on Brienne’s lap and shouted, “HI!” Nothing was going to stop him from making friends.

 Has learned and can name all of his shapes (even the octagon), colors, and most of his letters.

 Loves animals, playing outside, and reading.

 Has become quite mischievous, is learning how to push his limits, and is turning into a little dare devil.

Peanut
 Is due to arrive around January 24th (be watching for an announcement).

 Is going to be the sweetest little brother - Brienne and Owen went to visit a friend who had just had her baby. This was the first time Owen had been around a tiny baby and Brienne had been talking with him a lot about the baby that is in Mommy’s tummy. After Brienne had been holding the baby for a few minutes, Owen got jealous, ran up and said, “Mama -- Baby No, Baby No!” Peanut is going to have to be very sweet:)

 We sure are excited to finally meet him!

And then as I was making our address list I was feeling so very blessed for all the friends and family that we have. But, I was also adding up how much postage costs and realizing that in a month we would be sending out a little birth announcement for Peanut as well. It adds up that is all I can say! So, we had to do what we could to narrow our list down as much as possible so we didn't break our budget on Christmas cards.

Hence, the reason I am putting this on the blog so that many of you can see that we didn't forget you, we just aren't rich people;) So, hopefully no one is offended! We LOVE you all and are so grateful for your friendship. And, hopefully in years to come as our budget increases a little we'll be better about sending out actual cards!
