On Friday, Owen and I took a trip to Daddy's work to trick or treat to the different cubicals and offices. Owen was the first child to show up (there were only 4 in all that came) so he got some extra attention. He was allowed to take much more than one piece of candy out of each basket, lucky little guy. He also just recieved attention in general and milked it for all it was worth. He definitely is not a shy child. He acts it for about 2 seconds when meeting someone but after that, they are his best friend.
Owen dressed as Elmo for this trick or treating experience. He even brought along his little elmo toy and was hardly seen seperated from it. He learned to say, "Treat please!" very quickly.
On Saturday, we had our ward's Halloween Party. It was quite an eventful day since Ryan and I are on the committee that had to plan this party. Anyway, we went and ate hot dogs and chili and did a little trunk or treating. Ryan and I dressed up for this one as well. We decided to play up the fact that I am pregnant and so I dressed as an bun in the Oven and Ryan dressed as the Baker. It was pretty fun and our costumes were a big hit.
Owen was a lion at this activity. This was a fun costume since Owen loves to say "Roar!" But don't be fooled he isn't a fierce lion at all his roar sounds come out very soft and in a little voice. He did even better at this activity asking for treats. I think by the end of Saturday night he was really starting to grasp what a treat was. It was hard to get him to place the treat he had just gotten in his pumpkin sack in order to get the next one.
ROAR!
Owen really wanted to sit on our big pumpkin for some reason. He is just too funny sometimes. He kept turning around and squating while backing up towards the pumpkin. It was hilarious. In this picture you can't tell but he isn't sitting on the pumpkin at all, his bum is still in the air.
Finally, he decided on a different approach and just crawled over the pumpkin, which did end in a nose dive. Luckily, we have a tough son and this didn't phase him, he just went and did it again.
On Sunday, we got to do a lot of things with friends and family which is always wonderful. Most of the things didn't really pertain to Halloween. But, at night we did stop by my parents house so they could see Owen in his 3rd and final costume. He was a frog. Since Halloween was on Sunday Owen didn't go offical trick or treating, he'll have to wait until next year. But, he did get to pass out candy to some of the trick or treaters which he liked. Although, the first time a wolf man came up the stairs and Owen saw him, he turned around and bolted the other way. He only gave candy out to the nice looking kids after that:)
We left Ashburn around 7pm so that we could get Owen in bed. After he went to bed Ryan and I carved our pumpkins. A little late we know, but where we live we can't show them on our front porch anyway since it is indoors. So, they went on our balcony. We have aquired a lot of pumpkins this Halloween for some reason and we have aquired many different sizes as well. So, Ryan's vision was to carve 3 different sized pumpkins all eating one another. I think we did a pretty good job. It was a fun end to our Halloween season.
Halloween this year sure was fun and we are excited for next year when Owen and Little Peanut can dress up and go out together on Halloween night!

Oh my goodness, I love all three of Owen's costumes! It sounded like you all had such a fun Halloween weekend!! I also loved your "bun in the oven"/ "baker" costumes! Brie, you look absolutely amazing pregnant! Too cute!
